The tie-back application is used to stop the lateral movement of the wall by anchoring it to the soil using helical piers. Some ways you know this is happening in your foundation are horizontal cracks in the mortar joints that extend the length of the wall.
In some cases, the wall will bow inward towards the interior of the building. Another visual sign of this would be step cracks near the corners of the wall.
This all may sound similar to rod and grout being used as a solution, however, in this situation the cracks are more extensive and rod and grout alone would be insufficient so it will need to be used in conjunction with the piles to anchor the building to the soil.
At GoliathTech Keystone, we core drill or saw cut openings in the foundation wall where the tie back is to be installed. We install helical piers to an embedment of 10' or greater and attach a wall plate to the pile and fasten it in place. Request a FREE quote today.
